Lac Léman to Chamonix Ski Safari
Ski Safari through three of the great ski domains
of the Alps. The exact itinerary will be chosen
by your guide to suit the level of the group and
the snow conditions at the time, but this is the
general plan: from the shores (almost) of Lac Leman
to the glaciers of Mont Blanc, we pass through the
Portes du Soleil, the Grand Massif
and finish on the Vallée Blanche,
making fresh tracks but not too far from the pistes
for those tired legs. Each evening your overnight
bag will be waiting for you at your hotel.
Dificulty:
This tour is open to those comfortable
on red pistes, though a little experience of off-piste
is desirable. You don't need to be a superb skier
for this tour, but if you feel you can "get
down anything" this is the tour for you.
Itenerary:
We meet in the evening at our
hotel in Aigle, easily reached from Geneva
Airport by rail and road. Traditional Swiss food
and briefing for the week. The week starts with
two days exploring the Portes du Soleil,
the largest ski domaine in the world, with 650km
of pistes and inumerable off-piste descents. This
is followed by two days in the Grand Massif,
a domain based round the five linked resorts of
Samoëns, Morillon, Flaine, Les Carroz
and Sixt, with magnificent views towards
Mont Blanc. We finish off with the 17km Vallée
Blanche and 2,800m of descent. In the afternoon
we will have the chance to explore the Grands
Montets above Argentière before retiring
to the hotel for a celebratory supper and debrief.

Monte Rosa Ski Safari
This is a ski safari with a purpose... to sample
the best of everything! Your guide will look after
it all, from ski lifts to helicopters; all you have
to do is lean forward and enjoy!
The
circuit of Monte Rosa takes in some stunning
scenery, wonderful off-piste skiing in the finest
off-piste domain in Italy, a day with helicopters,
and a long day of classic ski touring to complete
the circuit.
Difficulty
This safari covers a great variety
of terrain. You should be a comfortable off-piste
skier, and be able to get down most snow types.
Itinerary
We meet in Zermatt on
Sunday evening. On Monday morning we will ski a
couple of runs under the Klein Matterhorn
(warm up those legs!) before a tremendous off-piste
run down to St Jacques in Italy. Over the next two
days we ski traverse the vaste Gressoney-Alagna
ski domain under Monte Rosa. We take advantage
of the helicopter on Thursday to reach the Colle
del Turlo from where we ski down to the lovely
resort of Macugnaga. We next take in Saas
Grund and on Friday we have the chance to cross
the Adler Pass to end the tour at our hotel
in Zermatt.
